Xim

We’re going to tell you about the band, our gigs and music.

Xim perform contemporary music based on the instrumental heritage of Europe, with modern interpretations of these age-old traditions. The musical concepts come from the players’ many influences and the nature of the instruments, including hurdy gurdy, melodeon, flute, whistle, harmonium and bass.
The band’s music has been described as funky, tension-stoked, with heavy power chords and a big, big sound, and sometimes quiet, thoughtful, even wistful. However you describe it, it’s brilliant to dance to.

Xim are:
Nick Carpenter – Melodeons
Kate Ross – Flute, whistle, bass
Frank Vickers – Hurdy gurdy, percussion
Tess Wingate – Flute, whistle, harmonium
